My name is Kasui, a Japanese ceramic artist.
I use Shigaraki clay and fire my works in the RyoFu Kiln at a reduction temperature of 1250°C over a period of 17 hours.
Each piece is meticulously handmade, and the NFT Name serves as its identification number.
My works may not possess intricate shapes or elaborate decorations.
They resemble natural stone and take the form of a Yunomi, a traditional Japanese teacup.
However, the true value of these works emerges when they are used by you.
Whether you enjoy tea, whiskey, or mineral water in this vessel, it seamlessly becomes a part of your hand, removing the consciousness of holding a separate object.
Drinking from this vessel induces a mindfulness effect, allowing you to experience a state akin to Zen meditation, known as "Wabi-Sabi," without the need for formal practice.
This artistic style has been refined through repeated trial and error, with feedback from myself, my family, and a few acquaintances who acted as testers."
Note: "Wabi-Sabi" is a Japanese aesthetic concept that values imperfection, transience, and simplicity.
It is often associated with Zen Buddhism and the appreciation of natural beauty.
